My love for gemstones began when I was thirteen, with my grandfather's grinding machine. Night after night, I would grind and be enchanted by crystals, each with its own unique character and hardness. Some display almost magical phenomena: the starlight of sapphire, the cat's-eye effect, the brilliance of moonstone, the play of light in opal, and the iridescent dispersion of diamond. Pearls sparkle with their soft luster, and inclusions like golden rutile needles make a crystal unique.

In 2022, a visit to Idar-Oberstein, Germany's gemstone capital, set everything in motion. That's where the idea for Amada Juwelen was born. I started goldsmithing in Schoonhoven and picked up gemstone cutting again. What once began in a garage has grown into a brand that stands for custom creations, where gemstones form the foundation of every design.

Amada means worthy of love. That's exactly what I want to express with every piece of jewelry: a creation that not only sparkles but also carries a story worth cherishing.
